বছরের কোনাে এক সময়ে একটি নির্দিষ্ট উপলক্ষে কোনাে স্থানে বইয়ের স্টল সাজিয়ে কিছু দিনের জন্য বই প্রদর্শন এবং বিক্রয়ের ব্যবস্থা করা হলে তাকে বইমেলা বলা হয়। আমাদের দেশে বছরের বিভিন্ন সময়ে বিভিন্ন উপলক্ষে বইমেলার আয়ােজন করা হয়ে থাকে। এদের মধ্যে একুশের বইমেলা বিশেষভাবে উল্লেখযােগ্য। বালা একাডেমি একুশে বইমেলা আয়ােজন করে থাকে। সার্বিক নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ করে গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়। ১৯৮৫ সাল থেকে এই মেলার প্রচলন হয়। ১৯৫২ সালের ভাষা আন্দোলনের শহিদদের স্মৃতিকে বাঙালি জাতির মানসে চির জাগরূক করে রাখা এবং জনগণের মাঝে বইয়ের প্রতি আগ্রহ সৃষ্টির উদ্দেশ্যই এই মেলার আয়ােজন। বর্তমানে বাংলা একাডেমি প্রাঙ্গণ থেকে এই মেলার পরিধি বৃদ্ধি পেয়ে পার্শ্ববর্তী সােহরাওয়ার্দী উদ্যানে বিস্তৃত হয়েছে। ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসজুড়ে অনুষ্ঠিত একুশের বইমেলা বাঙালির প্রাণের মেলায় পরিণত হয়েছে। সারা দেশ থেকে আসা লেখক, কবি, সাহিত্যিক, সাংবাদিক, সংস্কৃতিকর্মীসহ সর্বস্তরের মানুষের পদচারণায় মুখরিত হয়ে উঠে এই বইমেলা প্রাঙ্গণ। মেলার পরিচ্ছন্ন-সুন্দর, বর্ণোজ্জ্বল স্টলগুলাে সাজানাে থাকে। স্টলগুলােতে শােভা পায় নতুন পাতার গন্ধে মােড়ানাে নতুন নতুন বই। একুশের বইমেলায় প্রতিদিন কোনাে না কোনাে বইয়ের মােড়ক উন্মোচন করা হয়। নতুন বই প্রকাশ উপলক্ষে প্রতিদিনই আয়ােজন করা হয় বিভিন্ন সেমিনার, কবিতা পাঠের আসর, আলােচনা চক্র ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান। মেলাজুড়ে বিরাজ করে এক উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশ। একুশের বইমেলায় মেলা চত্বরকে বিভিন্ন ভাষাশহিদ যেমন সালাম, রফিক, জব্বার, বরকত, শফিউরসহ বিভিন্ন খ্যাতনামা কবি-সাহিত্যিকদের নামে ভাগ করা হয়। এই মেলায় শিশু কর্নার’ নামে শিশুদের জন্য আলাদা জায়গা রাখা হয়। সেখানে শিশুদের উপযােগী ছড়া, গল্প ও শিশুতােষ বই রাখা হয়। ভাষা আন্দোলনের মাস ফেব্রুয়ারি জুড়ে চলে উৎসবমুখর এই মিলনমেলা। সারাদেশ থেকে বিভিন্ন শ্রেণি-পেশার মানুষ গভীর আগ্রহ নিয়ে বই কিনতে আসে এই মেলায়। মেলা শেষ হলেও দর্শক ও পাঠকের মন থেকে এ মেলার আমেজ সহজে কাটে না। তাই তারা অধীর আগ্রহে অপেক্ষা করে, কখন তাদের মাঝে এ সময়টি আবারও ফিরে আসবে।

Digital Bangladesh Paragraph: Digital Bangladesh is a much-talked slogan of the present government of Bangladesh. Digital Bangladesh means a technology-based, prosperous country where computers will be widely used. All economic activities of the country will be monitored or controlled by the computer via the internet. The benefits of digital Bangladesh are many. If we can establish digital Bangladesh, corruption will be drastically reduced by enhancing transparency and accountability.

It will make people think globally and connect themselves with the whole world economically, politically, socially, academically, and even culturally. It will improve banking and financial activities. Agriculture, health, education, commerce, all the sectors will be highly benefited by making Bangladesh a digital one. For translating the dream of Digital Bangladesh into reality, the government has to take certain initiatives.

First, an uninterrupted power supply has to be ensured. We have to develop computer network infrastructures throughout the country. We also have to train our people to acquire the skill and ensure equitable access to digital governance services for all strata of the society. Finally, our education should be computer-based and in primary and secondary schools students should get easy access to the computer. It will be no ambition if we say that the implementation of a digital Bangladesh can help us to uphold ourselves as one of the developed countries in the world by the next decade.
